BYZANTINE.............



Byzantine art...uh... well the art is very 2d and has no depth. I'm not very fond of this period of art. Though the mosaics made during this period are amazing, I don't like that there very plain. The Hagia Sophia is an amazing Structure. Being made so many years ago and going through wars and still standing today. Though it has gone through construction due to so mishaps that have happen to the Church. The inside of the Hagia Sophia is all mosaic, and the dome of the Church gives it a floating look. It's an amazing site and can take any one's breath away.

AFRICAN ART






African art is very interesting, with the decorative masks clothing for leader and the legends behind some pieces. Masks in certain ceremonies will mean different meanings also with the design behind the mask. Some masks my represent harvest and others may represent a good hunt.


In the picture with the man sitting in the center of the crowd of people wearing extravagant clothing holding the weapon is the leader of the village. The staff and sword in his hands represent the power the man has. The decorative clothing also show his status as an important figure in his village.
